Kabil Sibal Says to Remove Roaming Cost and Increase standard Internet Speed in India
Honorable (:P) Kapil Sibal says that speeds in India would increase by 2015 to 2mbps, from the default, 256kbps. The Defaults will be also raised to 512k by the end of 2011. Higher speed upto 100mbps by 2020 is also promised.
“The primary objective of the new policy is maximising public good by making available affordable, reliable and secure telecommunication and broadband services across the entire country” Kapil Said.
A ‘Right To Broadband’ is also being worked upon.
It is also said that Fibre-Optics cables will be led to villages.
